Our Story

Providing Smiles and Happiness

Hi, I am Lauren Burks the owner of Burks Blooms Flower Farm. Burks Blooms Flower Farm is a cut flower farm located south of Hastings, Minnesota. My husband (Jon) and three kids Lily, Hank, and Graham moved to the farm in 2018, we had dreamed of owning a hobby farm since we started dating in highschool. We are on a beautiful 15 acres where Jon is using his horticulture background to build a hard apple cidery and now cut flowers with me. We also have 2 vegetable gardens, 2 Great Pyrenees mixes (Millie, and Murphy), chickens, and ducks.

Why cut flowers? I had just graduated from Occupational therapy school and spent the last three years in school at home raising my kids and helping my grandmother out. She was my best friend. Some of the greatest times we had were spending time at the flower shops in spring and watching Hallmark movies together. My grandmother loved flowers. She had passed March 2019 one of the last films we watched together was “Tulips in Spring”. Her and I were talking about how cool it would be to own one and that’s where the flower farm idea came from! I started with just a small plot in 2019 then it continued to grow each year to 8 rows this last year(2022) selling at the end of our driveway. Every year it brings me so much joy and peace. My hope is to bring this joy and peace to others in the community and build a community through flowers.
